Current Status & Community Response
The Mayfield-Graves County Long Term Recovery Group (MGC LTRG) has activated to collect damage reports and requests for assistance following the August, 2026 storms. Our priority is ensuring that all survivors, regardless of how big or small the impact, are connected to the help they need. Here we will share updates on recovery resources, a link to request disaster assistance, and other updates.

The Red Cross may be offering emergency shelter, food, health services, and cleanup kits for those impacted by the April storms.
Check availability of services or register for assistance. Financial assistance may be available for residents of homes that had more than 18+ inches of water in the home

KY Realtors Relief Fund
The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Relief Foundation and Kentucky REALTORS® are providing an additional $100,000 in relief funding to help those who were impacted by the flooding beginning on April 2nd, 2025. The deadline to apply for those funds is May 30th, 2025.
Relief funds can be applied toward assistance with mortgage or rental payments, as well as lodging assistance for those who were displaced due to the natural disaster.
Relief assistance is limited to one month of housing expenses up to a maximum of $1,000 per household. Funds are applicable to those who experienced home damage in relation to the storms and flooding beginning April 2nd, 2025.

If you lost important documents in the recent floods, you’re not alone. Replacing things like IDs, insurance papers, and birth certificates can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to help. Below is a simple guide to getting your documents back as quickly as possible.

FEMA announced that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the Commonwealth of Kentucky to supplement response efforts in the areas affected by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding beginning on April 2, 2025, and continuing.
The President’s action authorizes FEMA to coordinate all disaster relief efforts to alleviate the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population and to provide appropriate assistance to save lives, to protect property, public health and safety and to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe.
Specifically, FEMA is authorized to identify, mobilize and provide, at its discretion, equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the emergency. Emergency protective measures, limited to direct federal assistance, under the public assistance program, will be provided at 75% federal funding.
The assistance is for all 120 Kentucky counties.
